Review by Amazon Customer: 5-Stars
I read the book overnight; couldn't put it down. The author does a masterful job of painting those mental pictures and re-creating the sounds and moods, not to mention the trials, tribulations, and tensions, of growing up in the city in that era, trying to figure it all out and put it all together. The protagonist and I are of the same generation, born the same year, so I can identify with the music, styles, and places (Pine Grove, Damn!!) that Dyllon takes us through. I also enjoyed the 'Dyllonisms' at the beginning of each chapter; the 'philosophical thread' which runs through the chapters themselves.
Overall, this is a fine piece of reminiscence for those of us who grew up in that era, as well as an insight for our twenty-and-thirty-something sons and daughters as to how we used to roll back in the day. They'll find their challenges no different from ours...and we survived it without cell phones, Play Stations, or Facebook!!

"Some believe that fate is based on cause and effect, like when a storm begins and the resulting wave finally appears on shore. Others believe that fate means blind chance. Either way, we are at the mercy of powers that we cannot control." Dyllon's Law
